Post Production -Editing

On Friday February  5 th,  I   presented  my magazine  titled “The In side”  to the class my  peers were  ab le to  help by  point ing  out  the discrepancies in my maga z ine ,  that I would not have realized without the  pointers.  The  pointers  I received were that   again  my margins were incorrect,  I did not write enough in my feature article, I  was told  to change my placement of certain elements, I was told to increase the numbers on my  content page and add more articles to my content page.   On  Monday   March  1 st , I  began  my editing with fixing my margins, this was challenging at first because each  question and answer was its own text  box, so it was hard to make sure the spacing was accurate, w hen correcting my margins .  When I  performed my interview on the  athlete,   I was centering ...

Peer Review

After presenting my magazine to the class I received some critiques, but not a lot. I was proud of myself after receiving minimal critiques. After watching other people in class get critiqued on their magazine, I slowly realized what I was missing on my magazine.      I was told to fix my margins, this was something I didn’t notice until my peers pointed it out to me, but it was an extremely valid point. Two of my articles on the cover page were hanging off the edge and needed to be moved further to the right and even with the rest of my articles. I was also told that my cover page of my magazine appeared to  actually look  like a real magazine, which I thought was the best compliment to ever receive on this project.   I was then told that my content page needed some changes before sending to Cambridge to be graded. I was told by my peers to add more article titles and description so it will appear as a true magazine. I was also told I ...

Production 6-Placement

On Thursday January 14 th , I attempted to find videos about how to turn my masthead into 3-D text. I found it hard to find any videos for InDesign; I was only able to find videos for how to turn the text 3-D in Photoshop. I wanted to be able to figure it out by myself, but instead I’m going to need to ask my teacher in order to do so.                 On Friday January 15 th , I asked my teacher Ms. Gartland to help me change the text. She was able to search on Adobe on how to change the text. I shared my screen with her and followed the directions she found and successfully changed my  masthead  and it gave my magazine a whole new look. My teacher also gave me a lot of pointers on what I should change on my cover page in order to make my magazine more superior. I edited some of the font as well as change the location of some of the articles. I also edited the description under the ...

Production 5-Writing

On Monday January 11th, I decided to begin my feature article. It has been hard to stay on top of all my midterm projects, so I didn’t get as much as I intended to get done. I went back and forth at first for what I wanted my feature article topic to be specifically about and what questions to ask. I finally although settled on discussing how Robbie Leiding made it far in the golfing industry as well as discuss how many other potential golfers can do so too.   On Tuesday January 12 th , I interviewed Robbie Leiding. I asked him “how he got into golfing?” I asked him “how he got where he is today?” and many more questions. I included  all of  his responses in my article. I had problems asking questions on the spot I should  have  planned my questions before.   On Wednesday January 13 th . I continued writing my article. I planned to begin my feature article in InDesign after I asked my teacher a few questions about my cover page. I still wanted t...

Production 4-Editing

On Wednesday January 6 th , it became challenging for me to work efficiently when I had so much work in other classes. I obviously didn’t want to blow off a whole day and get nothing done to benefit my magazine, so I brainstormed different picture ideas for my feature article. I really enjoyed the idea of having Robbie Leiding as a child on the feature article, but I thought it would be impossible. I didn’t want to give up on the possible chance of having a picture of him as a kid on the feature article, so I made a call.          On Thursday January 7 th , I received pictures of Robbie Leiding as a teenager for my feature article. It wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, but it will do. He told me his family traveled a lot and didn’t make it to  all of  his golfing events. I was still incredibly grateful that he found me a picture to use.      On Friday January 8 th , I decided to edit the p...

Production 3-Photo Taking

Image
On Monday January 4 th , I edited my pictures I took for my magazine. The pictures came out phenomenal because I was able to borrow an expensive Cannon camera; in order to ensure that the quality of the photos would be great. I decided to use Photoshop to edit my pictures. I have previously used Photoshop  before  so I was able to navigate and use all the tools  fairly well . I brightened up the picture and added some shadows to give it a more dramatic effect. After editing several  pictures  I was quickly able to pick out the perfect picture to use for my cover page of my magazine.          On Tuesday January 5 th , I finally got the courage to use InDesign. I quickly acknowledged how difficult InDesign is compared to Photoshop. It resulted in me searching on YouTube tutorials on how to navigate certain tools. I was able to put my picture on the cover and my masthead and other articles on the sid...
